Dr. Sharon Cohan Sung is Assistant in Psychology at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Sung earned her M.S. and Ph.D. from the San Diego State University/University of California San Diego Joint Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology. She completed her clinical internship at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine and received specialty training in cognitive behavioral treatment of mood, anxiety, and substance use disorders at the Columbia University Clinic for Anxiety and Related Disorders and at the American Institute of Cognitive Therapy in New York City.

Dr. Sung’s research and clinical training has focused on empirically supported treatments for anxiety disorders, trauma, and complicated grief. She has published research articles related to psychiatric comorbidity, anxiety, coping, resilience, and post-traumatic stress disorder. She is the recipient of career development awards from the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, the Anxiety Disorders Association of America, the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation, and the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Dr. Sung is active in several professional associations, including the Anxiety Disorders Association of America and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies.
